PerduraboModeratorThere have been some interesting scientific developments regarding the nature of ‘identical twins’ recently. It turns out identical twins aren’t that identical, but it is now possible to determine with up to 80% accuracy whether someone is an identical twin by analyzing their DNA — even if they have no twin. In addition to all the non-human cells that live in our body, some of us (chimera) also have cells from a twin we absorbed during embryonic development.
Something that often comes up in the field during Craniosacral Therapy and Pre and Perinatal Therapy is the presence of a lost twin. Do you have any experience with clients or exploring yourself being a ‘womb twin survivor’?

Renee HellaModeratorThis is a really fascinating topic and we are really just at the beginning of understanding how it all works. One of the aspects of this dynamic for me is what is called the chimera which is when we still carry the DNA of our twin within our bodies! I was involved with a workshop where these dynamics were discussed, and I tried to show how the embryology of twinning works! Did you know that singleton and twin midlines are different? More info here.
Does anyone else feel like they are both themselves and their twin? I’d love to hear more.
